Walk Buffalo is a wonderful way for both visitors and native Western New Yorkers of all backgrounds to learn about the rich history and architecture that Downtown Buffalo has to offer. Walk Buffalo is the popular free 2.5-mile self-guided walking tour of Downtown Buffalo. The tour, which begins at the Market Arcade, 617 Main Street, is laid out in the Walk Buffalo Tour Book. Walkers simply follow the 28 Blue Buffalo Markers on the sidewalks along the route.
The Walk Buffalo Project was an initiative of the NMG’s Downtown Action Group. This collaborative effort was the culmination of an estimated 3,700 hours of volunteered time doing research, writing, graphic work, and fundraising. This full color version has more anecdotes and sites than previous editions and features the brilliant photography of Andy Olenick, the creator of the popular large format book Classic Buffalo.
